Rolex GMT-Master II Batman vs Batgirl: What's the Difference?

WristArc · Miami ·

Both have the same blue-and-black ceramic bezel, which is why the names get mixed up. The difference comes down to the reference number and, mostly, the bracelet.

The short answer

The references

116710BLNR — introduced in 2013 as the first steel GMT-Master II with a two-colour blue/black Cerachrom bezel. It came on the Oyster bracelet and became the original "Batman". It uses the caliber 3186 movement.

126710BLNR — introduced in 2019 with the new caliber 3285 movement (about 70 hours of power reserve) on the Jubilee bracelet. Collectors nicknamed it the "Batgirl". Rolex later offered the 126710BLNR on the Oyster bracelet as well, so you'll now see the same reference called "Batman" or "Batgirl" depending on the bracelet.

How to tell them apart

Which should you buy?

The Oyster bracelet is more robust and sporty; the Jubilee is more comfortable and wears dressier. The newer 126710BLNR has the more modern movement, while the 116710BLNR is a discontinued reference with its own following. Condition, completeness (box and papers) and service history usually matter more to value than the nickname.
